Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 30, 2025
Your privacy matters. This policy explains how Allergy Logger ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information.
The Short Version
Your health data stays on your device. We don't collect it, we don't store it, we don't sell it.
Data Storage
Local Storage Only
All your health information is stored locally on your device using:
- iOS UserDefaults for app settings
- Local device storage for your allergy logs, reaction data, and tracking information
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself.
What We Store Locally
The app stores the following on your device:
- Allergy reaction logs (symptoms, triggers, severity, dates/times)
- Pollen and trigger tracking data
- Medication records
- Daily wellness tracking (energy, stress levels)
- Photos you add to logs (if any)
- Weather and pollen data temporarily fetched for pattern analysis
- App preferences and settings
Data We Collect
Personal Information
We do not collect any personally identifiable information. You are not required to create an account or provide any personal details to use Allergy Logger.
Location Data
If you grant permission, the app accesses your location to:
- Fetch local pollen counts (birch, grass, ragweed, alder, olive, mugwort)
- Retrieve air quality data for your area
- Fetch weather data (temperature, barometric pressure, humidity)
- Analyze correlations between environmental conditions and your symptoms
Your location coordinates are:
- Never stored permanently
- Never transmitted to our servers (we don't have servers)
- Only used temporarily to fetch environmental data from third-party APIs
You can revoke location permission at any time through iOS Settings.
Pollen & Weather Data
Environmental data is fetched from Open-Meteo's free API. When you enable location services:
- Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve pollen and weather data
- We receive: pollen counts by type, temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, and air quality index
- This data is stored locally with your logs for pattern analysis
- Open-Meteo's privacy policy applies to their data collection
Third-Party Services
RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and premium subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:
- Anonymous device identifiers
- Purchase and subscription status
- App usage analytics related to purchases
RevenueCat does not have access to your health data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Open-Meteo (Pollen & Weather API)
Open-Meteo provides pollen and weather data. See their terms for how they handle API requests.
What We Don't Do
- No cloud storage: Your data is not backed up to our servers (we don't have any)
- No data selling: We never sell your information to third parties
- No advertising: No ads, no tracking pixels, no data brokers
- No analytics: We don't use Google Analytics or similar services
- No account required: No email collection, no user profiles
Data Exports
You can export your data at any time via the app's export feature (premium feature). Exports are:
- Generated locally on your device
- Saved to your device or shared via iOS share sheet
- In PDF or CSV format
- Entirely under your control
Data Deletion
To delete your data:
- Use the app's "Clear All Data" feature in Settings
- Or delete the app from your device
Either action permanently removes all locally stored health data. This cannot be undone.
Children's Privacy
Allergy Logger is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
Your data is protected by:
- iOS system-level encryption and security
- No network transmission of health data
- Local-only storage
We recommend enabling device passcode/biometric lock and keeping your iOS version updated.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
- Right to access: View your data anytime in the app
- Right to export: Use the export feature
- Right to delete: Clear data or delete the app
- Right to control location: Manage in iOS Settings
